Renew .app any time before expiry. Auto renew is available in the client area. After expiry there is a grace period of about 30 days where renewal is still at the normal price, but the website may stop working. After that comes a redemption period of about 30 days with a higher restore fee. When all periods end, the name is released and anyone can register it.
Transfers of .app need the domain to be unlocked and a valid auth code from the current registrar. A domain cannot move within 60 days of registration or a previous transfer. The registrant email must approve the request. Typical time is 5 to 7 days.
A .app name goes through these stages: Active for the paid term, then Expired with a grace period of about 30 days, then Redemption for about 30 days, then Pending delete, then released.
DNSSEC is supported for .app. You can add DS records from your DNS panel once your DNS provider signs the zone.
